TOMTEC presents clinical solutions based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and introduces a Virtual Reality prototype for 3D ultrasound

On June 23-25, TOMTEC was on exhibit at the ASE 2018 conference that took place in Nashville, TN. This year`s ASE theme “See the sound – hear the science” tied into TOMTEC’s booth which presented its AI solutions as well as an insight into Virtual Reality (VR). Once again, TOMTEC showed its innovative power which can change the clinical workflow through AI and enables doctors to experience 3D ultrasound in a three dimensional environment.

TOMTEC was very successful at the ASE conference. Those who visited the booth had an incredible interest in its automated measurements based on AI. With those measurements, TOMTEC provides a comprehensive set of solutions to improve the clinical workflow. Doctors could see how AI increases efficiency and improves diagnostic quality for their daily practice.

Another highlight at the TOMTEC booth was the virtual reality demonstration. The VR prototype provided insight into the possibilities of handling and measuring 3D ultrasound data in a virtual environment. Akhil Narang, MD presented two posters highlighting these details as a part of the Scientific Sessions.

In addition to the exciting conversations about the future of diagnosis, one eligible member was selected by the ASE foundation to receive the TOMTEC Innovator Research Travel Grant/Award. This year's winner is Tomoyuki Sato, MD, from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. The purpose of this award is to assist promising young researchers who will present his or her work at an ASE Scientific Session. Bernhard Mumm (Strategic Innovation) proudly handed this grant to Dr. Sato during ASE’s opening plenary session on Saturday.
